Why fish skeleton matters

Every marine collagen on the market comes from fish skin, and almost all of it is Type I. We start from the skeleton, which also carries Type II, the structural protein of joint cartilage. A marine source of both is rare outside land animals.

Lean whitefish, clean by nature
Our lean whitefish carries as little as 23 g/kg of lipids; salmon skin runs above 230. With almost nothing to oxidize, the isolate is odorless, flavorless, and clear once dissolved. As a cold-water species, it also dissolves instantly in ice-cold liquids, without clumping.

Cleaner source, fewer risks
Wild-caught, traceable, and free of any land animal. Halal, kosher, and pescatarian-friendly, with no BSE risk and no parvalbumin from fish skin. Its wild origin also sidesteps the sea lice, bacterial loads, and antibiotic residues of high-density aquaculture.

Marine Type II for joint health
Most collagen supplements target skin through Type I. Type II is different: the principal structural protein in joint cartilage. Almost all of it comes from land animals today. We're changing that.
Clinical and preclinical data suggest oral Type II collagen can calm joint inflammation, slow cartilage loss, and support repair. Ours is naturally occurring, from a wild-caught marine source: a pescatarian-friendly joint-health input we're looking for a partner to validate.

About us
A Nordic marine biotech company
Marine collagen is booming, but almost all of it is fish skin, and mostly Type I. We started from a different question: what's the highest-value ingredient we can make from an under-used marine sidestream?
Our answer: a high-purity collagen from Scandinavian whitefish skeleton, the backbones and frames that are otherwise discarded. Rare for a marine source, it carries Type I alongside naturally occurring Type II, the structural protein of joint cartilage. We're in active development now, defining the spec with formulation partners.
We source in Scandinavia and make in Denmark, with a process designed around net-zero. A differentiated ingredient, and a more responsible one.
